Rising from the ashes of a stale and decayed Arizona punk scene, VW Trainwreck is a band on a mission. By staying true to their principles, they have successfully battled their way through new-school screamo brats and old-school cynics to become one of the most respected and popular local acts (playing with bands like Guttermouth and NOFX). There are no gimmicks with VW Trainwreck. What you see is what you get, and this rejection of a "fashion-punk" mentality has fueled their rise in popularity. For music fans bored with the status-quo, in search of something authentic and exciting - VW Trainwreck will satisfy!

THE VW TALE

VW TRAINWRECK was born 5 years ago when a shared love of punk rock, comedy and politics resulted in a powerful, yet non-sexual, male bond being formed between Kevin Wunder and Brandon Vokenant (to the right). The expressed manifestation of this non-sexual bond was a musical collaboration which would come to be known as the VW Trainwreck experience.
THE EARLY YEARS They brought in a bassist, Richie Schuster, who played a few shows and open mikes, but then he died a horrible and tragic death. His body was found beaten and stabbed in a dumpster in the back of Joe's Grotto after a gig, and much evidence pointed to V and W. The word on the street is that Richie had been wanting to quit, but when V and W started detecting a decline in Richie's devotion to the band, they took action and brutally enforced the band's loyalty code. V and W's names were cleared by the District Attorney's office due to lack of evidence, though suspicions still remain.
THE SMITH GENESIS They then brought in Aaron Smith, a man of great musical talent, to play bass. He was with VWT aiding them greatly in their initial launch into the Arizona local scene, while also doing some great studio work for the upcoming album. But sadly he was called to other endeavors (curing cancer).
THE SEPULVEDA LAUNCH Though it was in the place they least thought they would find him, is where they have since found their greatest and best-fitting bass-player: Mario Sepulveda. He was in the band 3rd Left Turn, a band of equal talent and potential. Why he left such a band on the rise to join a trainwreck is beyond most basic levels of human understanding. But VWT is very glad he's here. They proudly now walk cock-sure (again, not a homosexual reference) in the belief that they are going places. With Mario by their side, the possibilities of this non-sexual threesome seem endless...
